Why Attend? A fatal lung disease is taking the lives of women in the prime of their lives. LAM, or lymphangioleiomyomatosis (pronounced lim-fan-gio-lyo-myo-ma-to-sis), affects women, many of whom, until their diagnosis, were young, vibrant and healthy. Unfortunately, most women and many health care providers, including pulmonary specialists, are unaware of its existence and symptoms.
Help us raise awareness and support LAM research by attending this special event.
WHAT: 5k run WHEN: Sept. 6th WHERE: Lehigh Parkway in Allentown. Benefits: Ashley Moyer who was KIA in Iraq last year was a graduate of Emmaus High school and this event is to benefit a College fund named in Her Honor. The Wine Tasting Gala will include twelve thoughtfully selected wines. Hors d’oeuvres will deliciously complement the wines. This light fare represents offerings of the best of local caterers and restaurants.
The Silent Auction items are sure to invite you to make a generous donation to Habitat and take home a special treasure or vacation week in that special beach or mountain condo where golfing or skiing is part of the package. Then there are those tickets to amazing sporting events, where you might actually catch a foul ball – the seats are that close to the action.V.I.P Pre-Gala Tasting, “Great Wine Valleys of Three Continents,” will feature wines from France, Australia, California, and… the Lehigh Valley. Dr. Laurence P. Karper will elucidate the characteristics of each region while you taste what makes each one special. Each wine selection will be paired with hors d’oeuvres chosen to bring out the wines’ unique qualities. 4PM-5PM. Tickets for a set of 4 is $300.
